Today i drove down to visit my folks at the beach. It was an absolutely glorious day. The sort of weather that i think about mid winter and wish for. The kind of day that all happy childhood memories seem to have been formed on. Or perhaps it just seems that way afterwards.

Being new to this blogging thing i am unsure about how to get started. Do i simply start, write embarrassing posts about nothing at all that i will look back on once i have have become a blogging expert and wince. Or do i write tiny structured comments on a topic and stick to that topic alone.

Perhaps this should be a blog about me starting a blog...or not because that would be dull. How do people with interesting blogs make them interesting. I guess they have a theme. I don't have a theme. I should get one. No one wants to read about me not having a theme. So theme ideas....cooking, i love to cook but i think a blog all about cooking would be a little conceited as i have no qualifications and my expertise seems to lie in turning left overs into food that looks new. For example:

Turkey Burger:

Post Christmas we experienced a glut of cooked turkey and there are only so many sandwiches a person can eat with out begging for mercy. So i made patties out of cooked turkey with the aid of my helpful bar mix.

Cooked turkey processed in choppy bit of bar mix, the thing with the rotating blade (hopefully people know what i am talking about)until it is like breadcrumbs.

Fresh breadcrumbs - not dried store bought variety made from stale bread

Macadameia nuts - (for my 22,000 american readers, you can leave these out or substitute for any other nut)

2 eggs

Salt and Pepper

Olive oil

Combine all ingredients and mix until it can be molded into patties, add a little more egg or oil if the mix it still dry. It should not be too sticky. Fry in olive oil until golden brown, eat with pickle, relish or cranberry sauce.

These were quite tasty and a good change from plain turkey. They are more filling than they look and need to be accompanied by lots of salad so they are not too stodgy.

I think i will add recipes that work out well (please feel free to add improvements in the comments or your own version of any recipes) wedding planning stuff and any other rambling ideas.

I think i will need to shape up and stop babbling when i actually have people reading this. That is all from me today.

Milestone!

I have a comment! Yay!

Good things come to those who wait.

So why is waiting so hard. I created this blog three hours ago. I should have 12,133 followers and 231 comments begging for another post quick smart. I guess i have to wait until someone has read it. How long will that take?

Goodmorning

I have never blogged before, so please excuse any lack of blogging finesse you may find here at a little bit of lovely.

First things first, my name is Meg and I live in Sunny old Australia. Today it is 34 degrees Celsius that is 93.2 degree Fahrenheit for my transatlantic readers. I was never very good at keeping a journal when i was young, i always liked the idea, but in practice i would write one page and stop. I have many journals filled with one page or childish scrawls which were then discarded for a new interest. I have always been of a suggestible nature so when i read a book or saw a movie in which the main character kept a diary or journal i simply had to try it. Harriet M. Welsh of Harriet the Spy fame was an inspiration for three weeks during the spring of 1994. Hopefully through blogging i will be able to find a creative outlet for all my journal keeping desires.

I should also mention up front that i cannot spell. As such if you are of a persnickety disposition and having burning passion for grammar and spelling, this is not the blog for you. If i does not auto correct to I, as it does not here, please do not expect to see a lot of Mr. I. I also tend to view details as things that get in the way of a good story, please don't quote me on anything, it is bound to be generally right, with a few inaccuracies, i don't make thinks up, i just tend to remember things wrong.

Most blogs have a vague theme, i shall not compartmentalize, i shall discuss all things interesting and lovely. One of my favorite lovely things is tea, how often do people sit down and really enjoy something as simple as a cup of tea. I try to stop thinking about dishes or what is for dinner, or even my nice new dress and simply sit in the moment and enjoy the thing in front of me. Each day i aim to concentrate on one piece of beautiful loveliness, it is amazing how something so small can brighten your whole day.

Well i feel a desire to write and write and write, but i shall preserve my energy so that i will have inspiration stored up to post again.

I wonder if anyone will read this? It seems odd to think they will. If you do read this, please leave a comment and say hello, you would most definitely be tomorrows little bit of lovely!
